FOREST PARK EVENTS AND DINNERS
DANCES – On the last Saturday of January, February and March, there is a dance for all Forest Park residents and guests from 7:00 PM –10:00 PM. The cost is $5.00 per person. An entertainer will provide various styles of music for dancing.
CRAFT CLUB HOT DOG DINNERS – The Craft Club members have three hot dog dinners during the season. They are open to all residents. You can buy a complete dinner or a hot dog, baked beans, potato salad and dessert. Further information about the dinners will be in our monthly newsletter.
EVENTS BY MONTH
WELCOME BACK DINNER – This dinner is free for all Forest Park residents. It is held on the First Monday in November. The Ohio Club sponsors it and provides the meat for the dinner. A table-of-people makes up their menu and brings the rest of the food for their table. Bring your own table service. There is entertainment after dinner. The date and time for the distribution of free tickets will be at the discretion of the Ohio Club.
VETERAN’S DAY CELEBRATION – On November 11th there is a parade of golf carts and bicycles to our flags in front of the Clubhouse where a moment of remembrance occurs followed by a luncheon for our Veterans and spouses
HOLIDAY DINNER – On the second Wednesday of December at 5:00 PM at the Clubhouse there will be a Holiday Dinner for all residents of the Park. Watch for announcements regarding purchasing tickets.
GOLF CART PARADE – Here's an opportunity to decorate your golf cart and yourself in your Holiday finest for a parade around the Park. Watch for the announcement for the exact date and time.
NEW YEARS EVE DANCE – There is a dance at 9:00 PM. The cost for the dance is dependent on the cost of the performer for the evening. Guests are welcome; however, you are responsible for their actions. The date and time for the distribution of tickets will be at the discretion of club leaders. Watch the newsletter, bulletin boards for more information. You may bring your own beverage. Coffee and refreshments will be served.
RESIDENT CARPORT SALES – Held on the second Saturday in February from 8 AM to 1 PM. This is the only day of the year when residents can have their own “garage sale.” An ad is placed in the local paper and people outside the park are welcome to come in and buy things from your carport or lawn.
VALENTINE’S DAY BREAKFAST – Breakfast is hosted on February 14th in the morning from 8:00 AM - 10:00 AM by the Shuffleboard Players. There is a nominal charge
50TH WEDDING ANNIVERSARY DINNER – This is a celebration of all Forest Park residents who have a 50th Wedding Anniversary during the year. They will be honored on the third Thursday in February. The date and time for the distribution of free tickets will be at the discretion of club leaders. A table-of-people creates their menu and brings their own food and table service. Anniversary cake and beverages are provided. After dinner entertainment is provided.
APPRECIATION DAY – A day of fun and refreshments is held on the first Sunday in March. This is for all Forest Park residents. The date and time for the distribution of free tickets will be at the discretion of the Board of Directors.
ART AND QUILT SHOW – Held on the third Sunday in March from 1:00 to 3:00 PM. Everyone in the Art Class will display their paintings. A painting made by the art instructor will be raffled off that day. Also at this show the ladies display all of their handmade quilts. During the year the quilters have made a special quilt that will be raffled off. Be sure and buy your tickets. The quilters also have a boutique where things that they have made will be sold. Refreshments are served.
CRAFT CLUB FLEA MARKET – On the second Saturday in March from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM you can rent a table from the Craft Club in the Clubhouse where you can sell your own things. This is advertised outside the park. They will have coffee and donuts for sale in the morning as well as lunch.
ST. PATRICK’S DAY – The park has a number of events on March 17. At 9:00 AM there is free coffee and donuts in the Clubhouse to start out the day. Then there is a parade at 10:00 AM. Decorate your golf cart, bicycle and/or yourself and join in the parade through the streets of the park. A Corn Beef and Cabbage Dinner will be served at 5:30 PM at the Clubhouse and entertainment is provided. Watch for announcement about ticket sales.
4th OF JULY PICNIC – A FREE “Picnic” is held in the Clubhouse at 2 PM Bring a side dish to pass around and your own table service. Meat and beverage will be provided. The date and time for the distribution of free tickets will be at the discretion of the club leader.
